A Family Legacy Continues: Céline Coquard Lenerz Named Head Winemaker at Wollersheim
In the heart of Wisconsin, Wollersheim Winery has been crafting exceptional wines since 1972. A new chapter begins as President and Winemaker Philippe Coquard names his daughter, Céline Coquard Lenerz, as the next Head Winemaker, passing on this role to a visionary rooted in the family legacy.
Philippe will continue to serve as our President, Co-Owner, and a vital member of our winemaking team, bringing his expertise to each role.
Céline, the granddaughter of Wollersheim founders Bob and JoAnn Wollersheim, grew up at the winery and has always been deeply connected to its roots. She works alongside her brother, Romain Coquard, who leads our Bistro kitchen, and her husband, Tom, our Distiller and Vice President of Sales. Her mother, Julie Coquard, is our Director of Marketing, Vice President, and Co-Owner with Philippe.
As a leading woman winemaker in Wisconsin, Céline steps into her new role with both a fresh perspective and the same passion and taste that her father, Philippe, has embodied throughout his career. With her commitment to quality and sustainability, she is poised to lead Wollersheim into an exciting new era.
Céline upholds a rich family tradition as the 14th-generation winemaker in Philippe’s lineage, a heritage dating back to the 1580s and still thriving today. Her uncle, Philippe’s younger brother, and three of her cousins also carry on the family craft as winemakers in Beaujolais and Burgundy.
We invite you to raise a glass to Céline, Philippe, and the entire family. Here’s to the future of Wollersheim!
