A break from Wisconsin’s winter! Join us as we celebrate both our Port wines, Red Port, plus our White Port. Take a behind the scenes look at the making of our Port wines. Sample both the Red Port and White Port, along with other Wollersheim wines available for tasting and by the glass. Enjoy live music, light food and insights on Port wine from winemaker, Philippe Coquard.

Tours & Tasting | In lieu of our regular tour, meander behind the scenes to see how our Port wines are made in our modern fermentation facilities and age in barrels in our historic stone cellars. Along the way, enjoy tastes of the Red Port and White Port, plus a few of our other wines. Learn about our Brandy pot still. This self-guided tour is complimentary and is offered in lieu of our usual guided tour.

Winemaker Talks | Winemaker Philippe will share remarks on both our Red Port and White Port. Talks are scheduled for 11:30 am, 12:15 pm, 1:00  pm, 1:45 pm and 2:30  pm. This is a chance to hear from him, plus ask questions about our wines and Winery, along with our new distillery and distilled spirit products.

Wine & Food | Both Port wines, along with the Tawny Port and other Wollersheim wines will be available for purchase to enjoy by the glass. Light food that complements Port wines is available as a Port plate combination featuring  a flavorful Wisconsin handcrafted Blue Paradise cheese or an Aged Parmesan, along with almonds. We have a new twist on chocolate this year! The Port plates are available to purchase with or without a glass of Red or White Port wine and while supplies last.

Live Music | Warm up to the fiery, guitar and percussion driven duo Acou
stico’s blend of Latin inspired music featuring Wisconsin musicians Peter Mac and Ryan Schiedermayer upstairs in our historic Sugarloaf Room.

Event Highlights:
Wine Tasting | While you tour, taste a selection of our wines including Wisconsin-grown Prairie Sunburst Red and multiple Platinum and Gold medal winner Prairie Fumé. Our sparkling grape juice is available for the kids.

Brandy & Beyond | Winemaker Philippe and Distiller Tom will share what is behind our Brandy & Beyond. As we look to the future of our new distillery, they will talk about basic distilling terms and expand upon our future distilled spirit products such as whiskey, bourbon, gin, apple brandy and pear brandy.

Grapevine Pruning | Observe pruning techniques for home grapevines as we share what we’ve learned about growing grapes in Wisconsin. The morning demonstration will begin upstairs in our Vineyard Room and conclude with a visit outside* to our vineyard, where we'll take you among the vines to show actual pruning. Saturday afternoon’s demonstration will only take place in the vineyard. (* Dress for the elements).

Cooking with Wine | Hear tips on cooking with wine and enjoy a taste as Executive Chef John Williams, UW Health, features our White Port in his morning demonstration and our Pinot Noir will be featured in the afternoon.

Fun for All Ages | Stops along our self-guided tour will offer unique opportunities to learn about growing grapes, distilling brandy, and the wildlife that visit our vineyards.   Our bottling line will also be in action for you to see.

Food & Wine | Lunch items from local Wyttenbach Meats will be available for purchase from 11am to 3pm. Our wines can also be purchased by the glass during the event.
