Estate-Grown Red Wine
This wine reflects the heritage of our winemaker who learned winemaking in his native French Beaujolais region. The grapes are grown on the winery hillsides overlooking the Wisconsin River where it develops aromas of fruit with deep berry flavors. Domaine du Sac has a medium bodied palate with overtones of raspberries and dark cherries. Ages five months in French and American oak.
Grape: 90% Marechal Foch and 10% Millot, estate-grown - Lake Wisconsin Viticultural Area
Production Method: semi-carbonic fermentation, Beaujolais method
Aging: French and American oak for five months
Sweetness: dry
Alcohol: 13%
Serving Temperature: 55º - 58º
Ageability: 2-3 years

History: started making Domaine du Sac in 1981
The Wollersheim Winery sits on a scenic hillside overlooking the Wisconsin River, just across from Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. This national historic site was selected by European vintners over 150 years ago and is one of America's oldest winery properties. Established as the Wollersheim Winery in 1972, today the vineyards are comprised of 25 acres of French-American and American hybrid grapes.
